What kind of input volumes are recommended when using the Masterlink? I'm using the analog inputs, and am looking to match that which is considered normal cd volumes.

It should mention in the manual, have not read mine in years. I run my analog input at about -4 to -6 db. Just a bit in the yellow. This is a little less hot than commercial CD's I play in the Masterlink. I just tend to leave a little room for mastering

This may be a subjective question as in depending on what your going into before you go into the Masterlink. Per si' compressor, limiter which can alter your levels going in. I record into the Masterlink also, but never to seem to be able to get good levels ( density, not "HOT") without the compressor/limiter ( analog) before going into the Masterlink! (YMMV)

I can't tell you what levels I use going in but I do use the Masterlink's DSP4: Normalizer function before my burn to CD. That does bring my final product up tho the levels of commercial Cd's.

Although I love mixing down to the Masterlink, I use certain programs in my PC for mastering.
