mastering with outboard gear ( connections settings ?? )

i got an 1176 and a 2-610 preamp ( both by universal audio )
and i'm used to plugins and embarrassingly can't think of a way to run a vox track through the compressor.

i guess analog out from apogee ensemble to 1176 in, then out from 1176 into ensemble's analog in? but what about Live? How do i make this work in Session View?
 
i've been using the 1176 on the way in successfully so i'm not a complete newbie! just not sure how to hook it up in post.
