Hi guys,
we are settings up our mastering chain and have some doubts about It.
How could we make the chain if we use hardware for the most of It and then put a software limiter at the end of the chain and making just one recording?.
We have an analog mixer Studer 928, converters links aurora AES 16, outboard gear and the software limiter, ableton as daw, all connected through patchbay. This configuration is so because the studio is used for producing and for mixing as well.
And we'd like to avoid the use of the mixer, as we normally see on mastering studios, just the desk with the gear, the computer, speakers...
And the second question, a monitor controller could be a good choice?
