I wrote an article that goes in depth on my mastering chain that I use in Ableton Live. I go through step by step, and what I use in my chain.

Mastering Chain Article

I spent 3 years perfecting my mastering techniques and am glad to help people save the time by sharing what I know.

Thanks ya'll

Isaac

WOW! 3 whole years...and now you have it perfected??? :laughings:

If you want to share what YOU do, that's fine. But don't try to present it as some sort of "magic formula" , because they don't exist. And if they did, this wouldn't be one of them.

That first paragraph has to be one of the oddest things I've ever read...

You should have seen my first post before I edited it. I mellowed as the day went on and decided to go easy. :D

I guess I shouldn't laugh too much. My drum sticky is just as pompous and douchey as some hack claiming to have mastered mastering. :laughings:

Nowhere near the same thing. For one thing, you give actual advice in your sticky (and pretty much all of it is good advice). Other than that, you don't just list 4 plug-ins and call it "technique" and "sharing the secret sauce". Besides that, you can actually type in English.

I'll have to say I got a lot from your drum sticky Greg and it is an interesting read as well. I appreciate it.

That being said I also think just listening to the mixes you and Rami post has helped a lot about how I think when it comes to mixing. I am not just trying to be a suck ass. It's true. Take it how you will but thanks.

My favorite thing is how the OP talks about his mastering "secrets"...and then just lists a bunch of plugs. :D

Not to mention...the track he originally included in his first post (now it's gone) is nothing more than a bunch of synths/samples...I doubt there is a single element that was actually *tracked/recorded* by him.

So then you have a bunch of sounds some pros did as samples or synth presets, followed by a bunch of plugs (probably mostly presets)...and that took three years to "perfect"...?!
:laughings:

All you need to be a great mastering engineer is fruity loops and a cracked waves bundle. Done. You are pro.

I was ready to buy whatever this dude was selling, but he doesn't even offer anything. Bummer, I would have payed $99 for his secrets.
