I was wondering if anyone out there could show me examples of how some songs sound before and after mastering. I'm more curious than anything, really, but I figure maybe it could help me mix better if I kind of know where I'm trying to get when mixing. Sometimes I'll drive myself nuts trying to get a mix to sound a certain way, totally forgetting that I am not capable of pro sound with my lack of experience/mastering know-how.
I also think it would be cool to hear different stages of a project from start to finish for an amateur such as myself, because sometimes it feels like I haven't the slightest idea what I'm doing when I'm mixing.
If someone could provide links to audio samples (prefferably short clips as I'm on a dial-up modem) it would be much appreciated not only by me but I'm sure a lot of other people here would enjoy listening as well.
