This group is on a boom-bap Hip-Hop vibe with a focus on lyricism, and their beats are full of rock guitars and harmonica's and all that.

They're seriously dope, in a non-commercial sort of way.

I actually enjoyed the 6 hour mastering session.

What is a mastering session like? I mean I know you master tracks but what are some activities that go on that most people dont know about

Usually boring & repetitive. Unless the music is hot, then it could be somewhat fun.

Good Question Noddy Nod!
I thought mastering an album would take days if not weeks. If of course, you're me and do that Shizzit in like an hour! just kidding!!!
My Masters sound worst than the damn original......I let my boy do that, but like Mindset says, I am no where in the room, it's too repetitive for me, even when it's hot! I can weather a song or two. But an album? What?
Not the Kid!

Mastering can be crazy boring. 90% of mastering, is listening to the music. Letting your ears tell you how to massage the track, to bring out and highlight it's best qualities. So, before you even sit down for a mastering session, like I did today, you'll put multiple hours of critical listening in first. That's the most important thing, letting your ears guide you.

Of course, you have to have great ears, ortherwise it'll suck. lol..

Never quite understood it that way. But it makes sense to listen to a track repeatedly, so you have a a damn good concept of what to do once the mastering process starts.
First, you must understand the concept of sound. Second, have a good set of ears. And last, but not least, make it do what it do!
