Hi. Has anyone around here had their Marshall DSL100's Modded by Voodoo? I have been reading their website and some info posted on a few forums, and I'm kinda interested. It's not so much that my Marshall sounds like crap for live, but when I record the higher gain channels get all buzzy, even with the gain backed *WAY* down. The Voodoo "standard" Marshall DSL100 mod is supposed to solve this ...so, I have started to consider this Voodoo mod as a possibility, especially since I do more recording now than gigging.

Any comments, even from those who have either heard the mods on someone else's amp, or on another model of Marshall or different brand of amp? Thanks!

Oh man... Voodoo all the way. I get all my amps modded by trace. The DSL100 mod is amazing in my opinion. If you have the 350 plus shipping to spare, do it... I seriously doubt you'll regret it. I will always have him mod my amps.

What are the "perks" of going with one of their standard mods? Will I loose gain? Will there be a loss of output volume? ...possibly dumb questions, but without being able to hear any clips of an unmodded vs. modded DSL100 (they have none posted at their site  ), I am being cautious. I'm looking for the balls-out Jerry Cantrell overdriven-to-death sound Alice in Chains had on their "Dirt" album. I would also like to hear my "gain" sub-channel on the clean channel a bit warmer than it is now...

...Any additional comments regarding the difference in tone you have experienced by having the Voodoo mods installed would be greatly appreciated!! :D

Thanks!

oh boy... I honestly am going to have trouble with this one. It's been so long since I've played an amp that I haven't had modded (I usually ship the amp straight out to have it modded after I buy it). Those are great questions, if I were you, email Trace at info@voodooamps.com and he will surely email you back with good, honest answers. He's a great guy.
