I just bought a 67' Bassman head with an AB-165 circuit. (Blackface in a Silverface body) I also bought a Marshall 2x12 cabinet with it, used, but in perfect condition. The cab says JCM 2000 Triple Super Lead on the front. It has a Celestion Heritage and a Celestion Vintage speaker in it. It sounds great, good bass response and everything, but I'm not impressed with the build quality of the cabinet. The plastic recessed handles buzz and vibrate some at higher volumes, which the speakers handle with ease. The plywood is 5/8"...I haven't had any problems with that, but it isn't 3/4" like some others. Is it worth the three hundred dollars? I know that new they sell for a good deal more, but I haven't really heard anything specifically for or against Marshall cabinets, since a ton of people have half-stacks and maybe the half-stacks are built better. I might be able to return it to the store, but would I want to? Would it solve my problems buying metal handles? I've tried tightening the handles as much as possible...obviously without stripping the screws, but it seems like the little annoying vibration is unavoidable.
