It depends on what you are using to produce a drum sound!
Try this -
- Click VIEW-SYTNTH RACK
- Click INSERT SYNTH
- Choose Edirol VSC
- Check the boxes to get a source midi track and an audio output track created automatically.
- In the MIDI track that is created, point its Channel to 10.
- Leave the input and output alone.
- Highlight the MIDI track and hit ALT-5 to open the PIANO ROLL window
- Right mouse click on the notes down the left hand side of screen and choose DISPLAY GM DRUMS or some such option.
- Here you can create your drum track.
There are lots of ways to do this. If that isn't what you are after then be more specific in your posts!
ok...i think i know how do to this now. the trouble is, i can't seem to assign the keyboard the drum kit. The keys either sound like a piano or a bass guitar...no drums...any thoughts??
If you're using the Virtual Sound Canvas, then turning the Channel to 10 should do the trick (as long as you've followed Qwertys beautifully description)...
i don't think i do....i used to use drag and drop drummer with my old cakewalk guitar tracks software....I just assumed it would work the same way with home studio...apparently i was mistaken. I see drag and drop drummer in one of the drop down menus but i can't seem to access the drum tracks off the cd....Is there any alternative for me if i don't have synth software?? I would have thought that my SB live 5.1 would come equipped with something...
