Being new to digital recording I purchased a Tascam Dp01FX and very quickly realized its limitations. Its a nice machine but.... So I did my research and decided that the BR-1600 seems to be a better match for my needs. I just ordered one yesterday!

I have been clicking through all of the threads and reading comments, advice etc. and I am even more convinced that I have made the right choice. The only bummer is that I have to wait 5 more days before it gets here. Im going crazy waiting for it.

Thank you all for having the nerve to ask questions and to all of you with the knowledge and experience that you are willing to share with us.

This forum is a great tool that I look forward to using. :D

Br1600

Hey Murphy,
You are going to absolutely love the BR1600, I have been using mine for just over a year now and I am still coming across little features tucked away here and there.
There are a few limitations with the Boss BR 1600 but they are hardly worth mentioning compared to the ability the machine has to turn out some very punchy recordings to CD.
I have in the past always been a big fan of miking up amps to record my guitars but since I have been using the Boss BR1600 I have not used any of my amps and mics to record.
Once again have fun and enjoy, remember though if you have a missus just give her a ''Hello" every now and then between laying tracks down!

Not sure what Monty means, but his message implies that he is not happy with the 1600, or has heard bad things about it. I too have had mine for over a year, and it is AWESOME. While I am by no means a recording expert, it has allowed me to do things I NEVER imagined I could do. It is a GREAT machine.
