Shortly before she moved to California, the singer in my previous band, The Beautiful Failures, gave me her Beta 87 claiming it was broken. I plugged it in to test it and sure enough no sound. I figured I'd get around to having it serviced one day, so I stuck it in the closet and forgot about it.

Then yesterday I saw the thread on stage condensors.

D'oh!!!!

Hauled it out, plugged it in, turned on the phantom power, and voila - a working 87!

Go ahead, say it: RTFM!!!!! :D
 
7000+ posts and you didn't think to consider the fact your condenser may need phantom power? You wouldn't happen to know what the best rap mic for under a hundred bucks is would you?

actually!!!! I did the same thing just yesterday with my KMS105, wondered what & the hell had happened to it & my C1000s & then I noticed the phantom power was off. So I admit it I to am thick

Whoever didn't have enough balls to sign their negative rep you can lick my unwipped ass. I was just f'ing with Mad and I obviously wasn't that serious. This kind of shit happens to me too, but generally only when I mention certain brands. To give someone an unsigned neg on this thread is pretty low.
