What can i use to make the vocals sound more "live?" Like reverb maybe? Thanks! I have Guitar Tracks Pro 3.

Reverb will work. So will phasers, Auto-tune, EQs, compressors, chorus, delay, limiters, echo, flangers and distortion too if used correctly.shoe1 said:

I use cakewalk Pro 9.
Being a vocalist singer/songwriter doing demo work - vocals are important to me.
Have you experimented with track stacking vocals? One way is to have two of same track with slightly altered effects on each track. One medium pan right - one medium pan left.
Another trick is too have narrow center channeled vocal - plu two more tracks - one right - one left - panned wide with heavy effects on low volume.
ALSO - remember in real studios one member of the production team works directly with artists in getting the best vocals - so THINK THINK THINK everything through and experiment.
mics - mic placement in regard to room - vocal placement ie singing off axis - the room recorded in -
Work hard at getting the "naturals" right as you can. Sometimes when working with inexpensive mics - double mics of two different kinds can be track blended to give the ear a nice sound.
Remember RCA in Nashville was killing the competition for years (I'm 57) with incredible vocals. Secret, they over heard famous singer as he was releaving himself in a basement rest room. They ran lines down stairs and by listening to headphones they began to record "live" sounds in the John!!!
Another vocal trick (Chet Atkins also RCA) is using a program
that allows speeding up a recording with out raising the pitch. Try 2% faster at first attempt. These two tricks done together for years were called "sweetness".
