I've been playing around with Reaper for a few months and still can't manage to get the tight tones that I want.
Is there anyone who could share their techniques that they'd use to possibly make my sound actually well, good?
I think it's being suggested that it requires much practice...
So, I can't listen to your track at the moment, but can you articulate what sound you're getting and what's wrong with it in your ears, what sound are you after, then tell us what equipment you used to create and record your sound and where you recorded it?
With that information, some advice might be more forthcoming...
It's a bit hard to give specific suggestions without more information.
I'm not using anything special, unfortunately because I can't afford it seeing I'm a student. I'm using an external 5:1 box thing as an interface, TH2 for guitar tones and using Battery 3 to create a drum machine, this is only pre pro for my band to bring to a studio when we need to record an EP which is some time soon but at the same time I want to make it sound good.
Thanks!
