making headphone mixes with Cuemix

hey guys, i have a motu 828mkII and i was wondoring is there a way to mix already recorded tracks in cuemix? so say i track drums, bass, and 2 guitar tracks, and quickly mix it, so its listenable, and now as im tracking vocals....say the vocalist only wants to hear one guitar part real loud, with a little bass, and a little drums,

how can i ajust the volumes in cuemix without messing with my mix in Logic?
 
You could send the drum tracks to a group and assign the outputs of the previously recorded tracks\groups to the various outputs of the MOTU, then patch them back into inputs. Though you would then need to disable those inputs during the vocal take.
Might be easier to make note of the mix settings in Logic and just ride Logic's faders for the vocalist's preferences. Once done, take um back to where you had noted them at.

darn, i though cuemix actually made 4 different mixes with tracks already recorded, like 4 mixers in one. oh well....thats an idea for the future though
 
It will with the 4 mix busses .... but you have to feed it with physical inputs, hence the need to assign separate outputs to the tracks\groups and patch them back in. Though by doing that, you limit the amount of outputs you have for separate monitor mixes by the number of outputs you used for the tracks\groups. Which ain't to much of an issue if you use some ADAT lightpipe gear. That would put you up to 20 outputs ... 22 if you use SPDIF also.
 
I'm using sonar and I generally set up projects with a master bus and then a phones bus that output to the phones out in CueMix.
