I have some new software to make slide shows and DVD's and VCD's but i was wondering if anyone knew the formats i should use to be able to put a video slide show or video, and wave files on to a CD so i can play th video in a DVD player and the CD in a regular CD player ....I know this probably isn't the right forum but as we all know guitarists have all the answers,LOL, and this is my favorite forum ...thanks in advance for any help ...later

Hi mate
i use nero on the pc to do that, but i find it all rather hit and miss.i got a new cheap dvd player and tried to watch a vcd of mpeg music clips on it , but it refused. it said vcd on screen.
so i tried another disc id made which came up as vcd 2 onscreen,,and played fine.weird.so all i can say is that if it lets you make stuff in vcd2 format, try that and see how you get on ok? er,,hope that makes SOME sense!

alright... here's what you do. Use Nero (or other comparable cd burning software) to burn the disc in "Enhanced CD" mode... You have to author the software or whatever you want before this step, however. Most EnhancedCD content is all in an EXE with other graphics and music, etc etc... A lot of them are self-executing Flash/Shockwave applets, actually. Here's the thing though... That i know of, there's no way for an audio CD to have DVD content on it as well. I've never seen that done, nor seen a way to do it. If you want an EnhancedCD-formatted project, then you're going to have to make it geared for the PC.

But then again, this is just from my experience... That i know if, you can't make audio cds and vcd/dvds meld like this.

sorry so long....

to get back on this... i'm not really wanting DVD files ,what i meant was the newer DVD players will play mpeg files ,mp3, and wave files, but so far it won't play wave and mpeg together i was using the "mixed mode"button on my software thinking that it would maybe allow for a wall between the 2 types of files and let the player show both menus but so far i haven't had success ...thanks for the input though
