I just put together my first talkbox and its sounding pretty good. I just wondered if anyone else here has ever made one, and if they have, how it sounds. Im looking to get a more versaile and clear sound from mine, as the vowel sounds arent coming out as clear as id like.

Anyone got some tips?

Or anyone want to know how i made mine?

I recall reading that you mount a horn driver rated at 50 watts or so (whatever's appropriate for the output of your amp), run a length of surgical tubing from the mouth of the driver up a mic stand, and use an A/B switch to switch between your amp speaker and the the horn driver.

Well i set mine up to work with my synth.

I used an old PC speaker, reverse mounted it to a used quickmeal pot (believe it or not), on the otherside of the pot i poked the tube in. Then gaff taped all around it to reduce the noise coming out of it. Place the tube in my mouth, play the synth through the speaker, down the tube, into my mouth. and Voila!

I need to get a better tube, but so far its sounding good!
