Making a PA for cheap...

I was just going to use it for small rehersals. I was considering just fixing up a crappy broken Kustom 12w guitar amp and running the mic through it, but it wouldn't be enough wattage to cut through everything else.
 
how many channels do you need to go thru the PA system....

btw, not sure if you understood about the amp....with the behringer speakers and the speakers you posted the link to, you would have no way of powering the speakers so youd still need a power amp to do what you are wanting......

that link i posted has 4 channels and is a mixer/poweramp combo with speakers....
 
and whether it'd be decent...

Aye, there's the rub.

80 watts and vocals = mushy PA.
80 watts + guitar or line level input = rather loud. Odd.

So you need a bit more punch in the PA. How about looking for a used Fender Passport? Not much punch, but better than what you were looking at and the price is pretty good for what you get.

Like this: Looks like a P250; 125 watts / channel.
