I have a couple songs that I made MIDI scores out of. I was wondering if anyone here can take my acapella vocal tracks and make notes out of it. I'm not quite sure how to do this, and pitch detection on PA9 sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Try using a program called digital ear, look it up on the web you may be able to get a demo of the software. This will turn your vocal notes into m.i.d.i...................................promise

the demo is bullshit. it converts 4 seconds, and it has to be mono. 4 seconds, and it didn't even convert shit. I'm so pissed. How does everyone do it when I download the MIDI's of pop songs on the net?

Listen to it by ear, then play it in with their hands!  Can you believe they have to do it all on their own? No programme to do it for them! Poor poor people..

maybe my ears just aren't trained that well yet. Amazingly, my MIDI's will just not include vocals.

If you want something REALLY badly, have a look for the piano/guitar sheet music. That includes the lyrics and the vocal score. You can play MIDI in from that, if you can read sheet music? If you cant, learn :) its not that hard and its very useful.

That is the nature of a demo you try, if you don't like it don't buy it. If it floats your boat you buy it, you ungrateful little knob head.

tif, i was going to make a MIDI out of an original song, so there wouldn't be sheet music. I just can't believe that the demo is that crappy.

Grow up. Let's see you create something better. Don't like it, don't download it. No need to diss it.

MIDs on the net generally have someone with a modicum of skill actually play the vocal track into the sequencer.

it's not the product I don't like. I'm sure the product is lovely, but with this demo, how am I ever supposed to know. I wasn't trying to be a dick, but I just wondered how many other people tried it and concurred with me.

I have a small ability to play what I hear in my head, you should give it a try :)

You can also click it in via mouse, if your program supports it. That's how I tend to work.
