I'm almost done creating my own EP. Before I put the finishing touches I have some questions:

1) If I'm going to print and duplicate about 100 copies of my CD,
what is the cheapest approach. Also, how do I find a template
to use to create my CD on Photoshop.

2) Does anybody want to play violin, cello, accordian or
piano/organ on my CD? If so I can send you the file and you
can record your track with it, then send it back to me and I'll
insert it into the final mix. I'll even give you an album credit in
the liner notes.

3) Does anyone know of a reasonably priced photographer in the
Chicago area?

4) How much does it cost to create my own website?

If any of you have answers, please let me know. Thanks!

Josh

hey, you can get the website for free (unless you want the .com thing) and then just getting an acount in www.dot.tk or something so it would be something like www.yourpage.tk

when burning cd's, depending on the quality you want you may either burn them yourself or paying someone to do it for you

what kind of music are you recording on the EP?

Have you gone to their site (Photoshop) and search for free downloadable template. I remember I got several good ones few months ago. For simple cover, I stick with one that came with Nero Burning ROM package.

Why don't you post some of examples in MP3 mixing clinic forum ? I play violin, and piano (beside guitar & basses) and do trans continental colaboration jamming sometime. I think we need to hear yours :)

I don't :D

Vary from Free to unlimited... you may get better info about it with Google :)

What's up Josh?

Another fellow Chicagoan! I love to see it.

To find collaborators, I'd hit some of our city's fine open mics. My personal favorite is Sunday nights at Irish Eyes on Lincoln Ave. They don't always have great pickens for collaborators but it sure is fun! Another great one, again if you're over 21, is the Abbey Pub on Tuesday nights. This one is pretty folky but a lot of great players come through there. the guy who runs it is named jeff and he plays some great fiddle and upright bass. I can't volunteer the guy's services but you can certainly hear him play and ask him.

As far as creating a website on the cheap, here's my idea. www.Dotster.com lets you register your chosen URL, provided it hasn't already been nabbed, for $14. For hosting, I use www.netfirms.com. For $5 a month, you get like 50MB of storage and cgi-script support. It doesn't let you do the walkthrough design like the old geocities pages but, if you know a fair amount about design or have something like Front Page or Macromedia Dreamweaver, you should be alright. I designed with only Photoshop and Dreamweaver and came up with these two sites. www.milesmaxwell.com and www.rtpband.com .

So, lets hear some of your music and pm me if you're playing a show in town!
