I see that you are the man behind the Naiant mics. I'm a recording noob, and I currently record vox, acoustic and electric guitar. I use an SP B1 for acoustic and vox into my zoom recorder, but I don't get a very good vocal sound. Not that the source is particularly great (my voice), but I've got a feeling that a good dynamic would suit me better, particularly as my vox are very sibilant. I was thinking of buying an SM7b, which I can't really afford, but wondered whether you make any mics which you think may suit me. I'd appreciate your advice.

I am really not the universal microphone expert, especially when I comes to availability of mics in the UK. However I would suggest if the SM7 is too expensive in the UK, look at Beyerdynamic, they have a full range of very good dynamics, pick up the best you can afford.

I just had a look at the Thomann site and it seems the Beyer M88 is half the price of the SM7B in the UK (they are roughly the same price here). I've had both and I consider them about equal, the SM7 has a bit more options with the EQ switches, but the M88 is 6dB hotter. They are both very high quality mics.

At half the price, that's an easy choice for the M88. Also consider the M69 or especially the M201. The M201 is good for just about everything.
