I have been mixing via Nuendo now for a couple years and using my D8B as a monitor unit.

I am making a decision to go to a control surface since I don't use my D8B preamps anymore and don't really need it for mixing as I do it ITB now.

I am looking at getting a MCU base unit to start with.

My question is does anyone use the MCU with Nuendo and if so how has it worked out.

I am running Nuendo 3.2 currently with 3 UAD cards with all the great software they offer.

Any replies appreciated. Just want to make the right move when I sell my D8B.

:D

Works great...

My MCU works geat w/ Nuendo..

Lots of programmability, but works great with the "preprogrammed" template as well.

It's a great combo... same as w/ Cubase....

Thanks Turnitdown.

I use RME ADAT interface cards now. Are you doing ADAT interface or Firewire?

What are you using to get the sound into the DAW? Type preamp?

Sorry for the generalized question because this would be the first time I would ever go without a mixing console with preamps.

Thanks in advance.

The MCU uses midi protocal to control the software, and yeah it works great, I use a Presonus Firesudio as my firewire interface and the running the midi cables from the Firestudio to the MCU.

Carter - thanks for a quick reply.

I'll check out the Presonus Firesudio. Looks like I will be having new adventures in going this route BUT it looks like it will suite my needs. I own several "high-end" mic preamps (Neve, API, SSL) that I use so I need a neutral device to run my stuff thru.

Thanks again.
