I was down the west end of London looking at the shops in denmark street and I picked up a mackie C200 passive 10'inc speaker for £125.00. which is think is quite a bargin. I looked at the prosound website and there was a pair of them going for £699.00.
I do have a yamaha s112v but not the newer version which is 350 rms mine is 300 rms 600 peak.
The mackie is 200 rms 500 watts peak but is much smaller and lighter.
The good thing about my yamaha is that its in a wooden box where as the Mackie is very tough plastic.( I was thining would he wooden box help with the overall sound quailty or does that really matter?
is anyone familer with the Mackie I have'nt had a chance to try it out yet as I got home late.
Would you rate the Mackie's sound quality better then the yamaha'a?
I have read the brochere and it says it has a good wide dispersion of sound so no matter where one is sitting the sound is meant to be cyrstal clear.
So i am looking forward to trying it out with my Phonic Powerpod 620 powered mixer.
