I listened to about ten different sets of monitors yesterday, including the ones you mentioned, here were the winners...
EVENT TRIA (powered monitors)
This set-up was just awesome. For further info, go to www.portlandmusiccompany.com/tria
The sound reproduction was so accurrate, that I heard things that I've NEVER heard before in one of my all time favorite recordings. Price: $799.00
GENELEC
I forget which model, but they cost almost 2 thousand dollars. Supremely accurrate, but rediculous in price. Most of us can't justify that kind of expenditure.
The Mackies and Tannoys were pretty good, but the Event Tria's were definitely the most accurrate for the money. Especially on the low end.
Just my 2 cents.
