mackie 1604 help needed

okay, i have a tascam 1/2" 8-track with rca in's and out's and an older mackie 1604, my goal is to be able to buss tracks to the tape deck while still monitering the output of the tape deck.
(like if i had 6 mics on a drum kit, how could i buss that to 2 tracks on the tape deck while hearing 6 already recorded tracks?)

oh yeah...i have 2 8 channel RCA to 1/4 snakes, hopefully thats enough.
