Mac / Win Compatibility?

I would like to be able to collaborate musically with a freind that had a Mac computer given to him. I am running Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 on a Win98SE system. Are there any Digital Audio Notation-Based Sequencing applications around that are compatible to both platforms? Or, what exactly would be my best approach? Thanks.

No, I'm afraid not except for the cross-platform apps like Cubase, Logic, ProTools -- I believe you can open a Mac ProTools file in a Windows ProTools system and vice versa.

You can do it with Standard MIDI files for the MIDI parts and exported audio files for each track, and reassemble the project on both platforms.. but that's tedious.
