I have a tascam us-224, OSX driver for same, a POD 2.0. What else do I need to start recording on my G4 450 dualie?

Forget Pro Tools Free, its going to be years before an OSX driver is released for that. I'm going to delete it from my hd.

I am not buying an Mbox, Digi001 or 002. enough freaking hardware. I have plenty. What in the screaming blue blazes do I need to make this fershlinger computer do what I wanted it to do, replace my tape based recording?

In case its not obvious, I am quite frustrated with the non-recording status I am currently experiencing. I bought a Mac because of their vaunted superiority in audio/video. Ok, where it is? Or do you have to spend 8-10 thousand minimum to get into the Pro Tools club?

I just want to be able to record a scratch track, dub bass, guitar1,2,3 (vocals, preferably not by me) etc. I want to be able to add effects (ambient, time-based, etc). I'm looking for mixing and mastering to a cd.

I don't want to spend $$$ on software, I think I've supported the economy long enough. I just wanna record.

thank you, Stealthtech. I've looked it up and it seems just what the doctor ordered.

Now, where the heck do you buy it? They don't even have it at the online store at the manufacturer's website.

everybody selling logic audio is pushing the platinum and gold. no thanks, i don't want to spend 450 more dollars.

i saw a banner or something that said 129, but now I can't find it again,

Binaural,

I had the same question on this board. I was just "given" an IMAC with 9.0 OS. I've heard great things about their multimedia capability...figure it's a no brainer to move from my slow Toshiba laptop over to the 350 MHZ IMAC.

I had cakewalk software for the laptop...that was around $100 and did the job and more. I'm now looking for the IMAC cakewalk equivilent.

Does Logic Audio fit the bill? What other options are out there?

Help some newbies out boys (and girls).

Thanks. KY
