As of right now i have a 24" imac with 4gb ram, logic studio, a 1TB external hard drive, an appoge duet, a studio RTA producer station(http://www.guitarcenter.com/Studio-RTA-Producer-Station-102807807-i1152467.gc), a mxl genesis studio tube condenser mic (http://www.guitarcenter.com/MXL-Genesis-Studio-Tube-Condenser-Microphone-581246-i1444540.gc), a m-audio 49 midi controller, an akai mpd24 controller, 2 pairs of dr.dre's signatures headphones, and akai rpm8 inch active studio monitors. All together this cost me about $4000. I have about $3000 more to spend and i need advice on a good mixer, what equipment i need to put in my rack(anything for hip-hop production), and anything else you think i need. Im not a complete newbie to simple recording with what i have as of now but im clueless as to what i need in a mixer and to what everything in a studio rack does.

I think personally you should trade in your mp24 and get a mpc 100 and a motu rack.

I think personally you are a few years late :D

Dr. Dre signature headphones? fo reeaaal? You be making phat beats in no time with those!!! Seriously though, You haven't given much information about what exactly are you trying to record? Are you recording live or track by track? If your not going to be doing live recording then a mixer is going to be useless. I'd spend the $3000 on a DAW, interface, and drop whatever you have left into room treatment and a good mic pre.
