Okay, I'm excited.

Though - I just found out my laptop doesn't have a firewire port - rofl. I kind've just assumed it did since it's freaking state of the art. Pfft. Anyway, I'll put this baby to use when I get the pcmcia adapter.

i just got mine too

I just got mine a few days ago too, i love it!
my laptop (which is a hp) does not have firewire and my iMac G5 was not here yet so i had to do something.... so i took my echo indigo soundcard slapped it in there then took the line out from the FIREPOD and ran it into the echo WOW! made my recordings much cleaner just through doing that :) my FIREPOD rocks! and now i have my iMac G5 its all plugged in and sounds great! the only thing i am having a hard time with is Cubase LE..... (not if i like it any way)

Mmm, emachines.... I think I remember my friends making fun of those back in the day. Haha, that guy's kind of an goof at times though.... anyway..

Congrats on the firepod! I just got my new Motu 828mkII in the mail the other day and had to run out and buy a firewire card (pc desktop). I knew I didn't have firewire, but I wasn't expecting the unit to come for another day!

Just cant wait till I can get some pre's to run into it... the built in ones have nothing on the stuff I've been using (tascam us-428 pre's).

I'm gonna pick up a pair of dmp3's, which ought to hold me over for drum tracking and overdubs (along with a friend's RNP) until I can get some API or comparable.... sweet action, too bad I need monitors and a new guitar amp!

If you line in to the Firepod does it bypass the pres altogether? I have a desk I want to use with an interface but don't want to be padded and re-amped.

Are they really that good? I'm buying a US-428 next month.
