M-Audiosport Duo

The M-Audiosport Duo is priced at 259.99 at musicians friend, and I was wondering how good of a buy this is for a mic hook up and a couple 1/4"s. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks.

Hey I have one and it is ok. If you need a quick and easy way to get sound into your computer and you only need 2 channels, than this is great. The pre's sound ok to my ear and pretty quiet. Not a whole lot of gain with them, though enough for most jobs. And it has phantom power.

The cool thing about this box is that you can use it as a SPDIF capable mic pre later in the game when you upgrade to something else.

Here is a song I recorded with it. I don't sing or play on it. I just hit record and set up some mics.

2 MXL603's and 1 V67 --> Duo --> Cool Edit Pro --> Waves Reverb

That quality sounds good. Can the guitar be directly hooked up to the duo? I was trying to find a nice, one guitar plugin, which is a 1/4" i believe, and a mic hook up, which i think the duo qualifies. Sounds like great quality to me. I've found it new with many accessories for sale for 260, and i will only need a microphone for only vocals, any suggestions? and does the duo work well with windows xp?
