hi guys,

I don't know if any of you have encountered this problem , or whether it is driver specific or something,

BUT

when you select wavout 1/2 to act as a monitor mixer, anything that you send to wavout 1/2 will sound lower in volume and almost grainy.

Example: Select wavout 1/2 as the master in vegas, then send some material to the master. You will notice that you get better volume an sound when you go into the delta control panel and select wavout 1/2 to play to hardware out 1/2 and not monitor mixer.

Possible problems. If you are in logic(or anyother software for that matter) and you have one file playing through 1/2 and another one playing through 3/4, the if you mix to where they sound balanced, the 1/2 file will sound way louder in the final wave, thus ruining your mix.

I would also advise that you do not record material through the monitor mixer

Please try it out and let me know if it actually makes any difference in your system. I want to email m-audio about this.

peace

You guys should totally DISREGARD that last post.
I feel so embarrased, cos it was not a problem with the mixer but a problem with me.
I had my fader on wavout 1/2 down by 11 or so dbs which is really senseless.

BUt I caught it last night, so please disregard the last post

Hey Cyan, thanks for coming back on that one. You had me scared. I just updated my 1010 drivers to .27 and Logic to 4.7 and have been having some probs adjusting. Thought your alleged prob might have been connected to mine. Just figured mine out though, at least I think/hope. I'd tell you about it but if you're interested, you'll have to go to the delta/Logic ezboard forum since Logic is informa non grata 'round here!:p

hi ap,

I don't use software monitoring. It is crap and I don't know who recommended it.

I think its for cards that don't have hardware monitoring.
