Hey, I am looking at the M-Audio Delta 44 to record my rock band. How do these interfaces sound? Is it a good piece of gear? Should I buy it? Also, does anyone have any recordings that they could share that were done with the Delta 44? Thanks.

Hey, I just got the Delta 44... I'll let you know my take on it when I figure out out to get it to work well with everything I have...

are you recording your band to a stereo 2 track? or individually? basically i'm saying are the you in need of the extra ins and outs...cuz i would recommend the lynxone...only has 2in and outs though....but blows the delta out the water...sonically...and driver stability

delta 44 is fine for basically anything you'll want to do first off. i started with a sb live card, until i learned a little more about things. so if this is your first card, and you've not recorded before, yes oh yes. it's better than fine. ha.

So I'll be able to make professiona quality recordings with the Delta 44?

Yeah, as long as you know how to make professional quality recordings!

And don't have some other really crappy stuff in your signal chain!

No I don't. Does anyone have any recordings that they could share that were done with the Delta 44? How does the sound quality of the Delta 44 compare to the sound quality of a Digi-001?

Unless your band plays chamber music, the Delta series will perform as well as anything from a sound quality standpoint. Far more important will be what you plug into it. The quality of your recording will depend more on your pre-amps/mixer, microphones and recording technique.
The 44 only has 4 mono channels - so I hope you're bearing that in mind. The Delta1010LT is the cheapest 8 input card in the range.

So you guys think it will sound just as good as any Digi 001?

M-Audio's converters work great, for the price range, hard to beat.

Are the converters in the Delta 44 better or just as good as the ones in the Digi 001?

not much difference between both two...but the lynxone blows BOTH out the water... and your mileage will not vary... ;)

Anyone got any full band recordings done with the Delta 44, or any feedback on how this interface works?

Who builds this card?

Anybody got any feedback on the Delta 44 and how it performs when recording a rock band?

It doesn't have enough inputs to record a rock band, unless you sum the drums to 2 tracks, and record a scratch vocal guitar to the others, or just do a full live 2 track recording.

I think it only has 4 inputs.

I like to use between 5-7 mics for the drums alone.

Then what do you recommend I buy, that isn't going to empty my wallet, that would be able to record a rock band?

Delta 1010 or 1010LT.

The 1010LT I think is under $300 somewhere online.

But what will you use for mic pre's?
