Ok, so now I have acquired a M-Audio Quattro sound card. Yes I know how bad its rep is on these boards and other reviews as well, but it was a free card and is a big upgrade for me.
I also have the Behringer UB 802 Mixer. The way I was doing it before with my old sound card (Sounblaster Live 16 bit) was running from the mixers "FX SEND" to the soundcards "LINE IN", and then from the soundcards "LINE OUT" back into the "TAPE IN" with a Y cable going from 1/8" stereo to dual rca. Sent the TAPE IN to the control room and I was able to record and hear recorded tracks at the same time.
Now with the Quattro, it has 2 ins / 2 outs (at least) which I will basically want to achieve the same thing as above. But now we are dealing with 1/4" inputs on the card, and do they work in pairs? 1/2? 3/4? Is that like Left/Right? Stereo?
Anyways I am a noobie and just trying to figure out which cords I need to hook this up to my Behringer and the best way to run them and be able to record and hear it at same time....
Thanks much in advance ~
