Hello,
I am trying to get some live songs off of minidisc onto my computer via an M-Audio MobilePre into Kristal (all I can afford) on my laptop. Everything works fine and dandy, I get a signal, decently clean and after a completely random time, I will get a wall block of clipped noise, that might last a few seconds or a few minutes, then subsides. It's never at the same spot, and just seems that there is some sort of outside electrical noise coming in randomly.
It happens regarless of if the computer is plugged in or not, plugged into a properly grounded outlet or not, whether I run the MD thru a mixer on its way to the MobilePre or not - just about anything I can think of varying, and I still get the same prob. Any ideas? is the audio interface faulty? (Please tell me know) Could the crappy free program be the prob? What the hell is going on? I just wanna record for craps sake!!!
