M-Audio MobilePre help. Desperate.

Today I bought the mobilepre to start recording guitars to my pc. Here are my pc specs:
ASUS Desktop PC CM1630 Series
AMD Athlon II X2 220 Processor 2.80 GHz
4GB Ram
64 Bit windows 7

I have it hooked up USB with my guitar plugged directly into the line 1 input on the front with a standard guitar cable. All im getting is delayed sound from my left speaker. My PC audio settings seem fine and the M-Audio settings dont really allow me to do anything because it actually says "Not connected" when I open it. I really need help on this because I havent found much advice online. Thanks.

Have you installed the latest ASIO drivers for it? Typically you need to install and select and ASIO driver. If your using the standard windows driver you will get huge delays.
