can i use this to connect my midi piano keyboard to my computer?

do i need a M-Audio Sound Card MIDI Adapter Cable?

if so do I need anything else and if i dont need the cable what do i need?

All you need is a midi cable connected from the midi out of your keyboard to the midi in of the midi-sport to send midi information to your computer, assuming the midi-sport is attache to the computer. You can also attach a midi cable from the out of the misisport to the midi in on your keyboard. This allows you to play a midi file from a software sequencer into your keyboard. This is probably the best way to get started with midi.

I've used a Midisport USB 2x2 on 3 different DAWs now.

Zero problems. Good unit.
