M-Audio interface help??

Hey guys. I have the M-audio interface and I need a little help on what is the 'channel 1 (LEFT)' and 'channel 2 (RIGHT)' for?

Here is a picture of it. I have the cables for it but idk what it does?

What do the channels get used for?

They are line level outputs. You would typically connect monitors (speakers) from these. When using the Fast Track as your external soundcard, all audio from your computer/DAW will be sent from there.
