m- audio FireWire 410

I just installed my new FireWire 410 on my laptop and am having trouble. I use Sonar 4 PE and am finding that in order to use the headphone monitoring on the 410 I have to have the echo turned on which gives me huge latency. When I open the control panel for the interface it will not let me change the sample rate OR the buffer size. How do I fix this??!?!?! I figure that if i change the buffer size then the delay might change. ANY info on this will help. ANYONE familiar with the 410, please give me some advice. THANKS~!

By the way...I am using a Dell laptop with 1.66 Intel Core processer 600MHZ FSB and 1 Gig RAM

Dude, close Sonar and then change the sample rate/buffer size. ofcourse it wont work if you have a program running the hardware using a certain sample rate and buffer size. make sure there are no program(s) using the 410 when you want to change the settings.
