M-Audio Fast Track

I'm thinking about getting the M-audio fast track usb for Rode NT1a mic...

or is there a cheaper option that is just as efficient?
 
There is a glut of 'similar' interfaces, and they'll all sound the same. I have the Fast Track Pro, and thought I would try the Tascam US-122. Other than having the knobs on the top, I couldn't tell any difference. They all work 'to a point', and they all get your signal to the computer. The headphone level will be too low for acoustic drumming, and the preamp gain won't be enough for a ribbon. Other than that, they'll work the same. Just check your computer and OS to be sure the Fast Track will work. There can be driver issues with Windows 7 or 64-bit.
