Hi,

Me and my band, Goodnight Astor, are currently recording our album at home. We got our interface, the M-Audio Fast Track Pro, 2 and a bit years ago. We've found it to be a little temperamental recently, finding that when we go to DI our keyboard through it, there is a massive hiss that ruins our recordings.

In some instances, we've been able to cancel it out by taking off the top end of the treble with EQ, but that obviously isn't an ideal solution.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or do you have any advice for dealing with this problem? We've tried every combination of buttons and tried patching it, but with no improvement.

Sounds like it may be an impedance issue on the input. Do you have to crank the input gain knob up? Does it only happen with this one instrument? Both inputs?

Both inputs do the same thing, it's pretty much anything we DI.
Sometimes it requires that you crank the gain right up to get a signal, other times you only need it very low... It's odd.
