M-audio drivers, anybody else having probs with new drivers?

Finally decided to go out and update my driver for my 1814 and ran into all kinds of issues. I did uninstall the previous driver and ran RegCleaner to clean up all registery orphans and what not. Installed new driver and it just does not want to work right. I'm getting all kinds of glitches and the sound card is just acting stupid now. For instance, not getting any sound out of outputs 1&2 when I see that signal is passing through the outputs in the 1814 control panel. So I uninstalled the latest driver and installed the next to newest one after going through all the RegCleaner stuff and following their instructions to a "T". Now it's just not even playing correctly at all, tons of glitches and artifacts. Tonight I'm going to go back to the original driver and see if everything works again, but I was just wondering if anybody else was having problems. Thx.

It may be that you should have had the interface disconnected while uninstalling and then re-installing with a reboot before plugging the firewire cable in. I don't have an 1814, but a lot of USB and Firewire devices that use special drivers don't install properly if they were already connected. It's drivers first, then the hardware.

I think that was the problem. I reinstalled the drivers last night making sure not to have the 1814 plugged in while installing the drivers. That seemed to work. Glad to get it worked out. Thx.
