I bought an M-Audio Delta 1010LT about six months ago to upgrade my WinXP 'puter for DAW. It's been a great improvement. Now I'm starting to realize WinXP is not doing a very good job of handling everything I throw at it. I've often worked on other people's 64-bit Windows 7 boxes and really enjoy them.

The problem however: When I start looking for a motherboard to accommodate 64-bit Win7, they seem to rely on PCI Express slots, whereas the Delta card needs a plain PCI slot.

Searched at Newegg but mobos with both PCI and PCI Express seem to all be server cards. Plus haven't found any of those server types where the specs state it will support Win7 64-bit.

Even more confusing is the number of "experts" online saying "Oh yeah there are tons of cards out there with both PCI and PCI Express." They may be right. I stumbled across a spiffy ASUS (link below) that lists recent goodies plus one plain PCI. Don't know why I'm not pulling up this type of info via the Newegg search function. Tips?

I think you didn't drill down correctly: New Egg PCI MB Search Results

Sure enough, more than 100 choices. When I tried it, I only searched for "PCI Slots" I didn't know about adding the colon and numeral 2. I wish all my technical problems got solved this quickly! Thanks!

I know your question was answered; This is out of interest more than anything but...

Is this an issue?

I thought pretty much any motherboard would support 64 bit OSs.

Almost more the other way around, win7 support just about any MB. That has been Window's greatest asset and its biggest problem, leave no hardware behind.
