M-Audio BX series vs KRK Rokits

Has anyone compared the m-audio bx5 to the krk rokit 5? I'm just hoping to get advise form professionals. Which monitor is better? :confused:

I highly doubt there is much difference between your two choices.

physics of speakers, you probably can't get deep lowend from a 5" cone.
from a mixing-skill standpoint some can mix better than most, with Radio shack speakers....

so I'd bet the RP5 and BX5 are a wash. neither is really better than the other.
so get the cheaper one and have some $$ching for cables or mics, or if one sounds better to your ears get that one.
drop a little$ on some 703 insulation panels too....
 
Both models were compared in Future Music mag's blind shoot-out early last year (January, Februrary, or March 2005?). I'm not sure if you can access the article online, but maybe someone else here has it. I do remember that the BX5 (not the 5A) was judged highly on accuracy, but I can't remember how the KRK fared in camparison. It was an interesting and lengthy pro review, though, split into two issues.

Just to put my two cents in, I'm a professional and I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5's at home --- I like them very much for their balance and midrange detail.
 
I'd say they are about the same quality...Personally, I went to Guitar Center yesterday for their sale and I got the Bx5a's for 199$. I wanted the KRK's but for 100$ less I was willign to settle for the Bx5a's.
 
I have the KRK RP5's and I love them. Ive never compared them to the bx5 but I sure love these things. For the money, they are amazingly crisp and clear. They are a little lacking in the low end, but any 5 inch speaker would be.
 
I just bought a pair of rokit 5 yesterday.
So far I really like them. Great speakers for the price.
 
I want to thank everyone, for their reply! Although, I posted the wrong m-audio model-I should of posted model DX4, not BX5. I think I'm leaning towards the rokits. I figured the rokits where better. Their is a sell on a pair of rokit 5 for $50 more than the a pair of DX4. Since I can't compare the monitors myself, i figured i ask for some feedback. Thanks again for your posts guys. :)
