i just got an Audiophile 410, and i used to have the 2496 soundcard. with the 2496, i can solo certain tracks and play them back as another track is recording it (i don't know if this is what's called "bouncing"). i do this by selecting the input called "monitor mix" or something like that for the recording track.

how come that option is not available with the 410? i'm sure what i used to be able to do with the old 2496 can be done with the 410, but i tried all the other inputs and none of them can record the soloed track.

So are you just trying to solo some tracks while recording a new track, or a you trying to bounce some tracks to another track?

i'm trying to bounce two effects-heavy tracks into one track, and then i'll just archive or even delete the old ones.

Then just bounce the tracks in your recording software. That's far easier than trying to set up a loop between the outs & ins of your card
