Hello everyone...
Well this is the matter...

I own a M-Audio Firewire 1814 and everything is going ok.
But in my new project, i need to record some real drums...
so i began by conecting the rec outs of my mixer to two 1814 ins...(because 4 of the mics need phantom power)
but obviously the editing of separate tracks bacame imposible...
So i've just bought a presonus firepod and my question is...

DO they work together?
How should i conect them both?

I'll Apreciate any sugestion or comment of this subject.

regards.

Why don't you daisy chain them together via firewire? Is it possible? I'm not sure myself cause they're two different companies.

I would say most likely yes, just test it yourself. I know in Cool edit pro its most likely possible because they will just register as a series of inputs and you can designate a track to a certain input. Like studiomaster said, daisy chain, then go into the program and see if you can choose which inputs apply to which tracks.

I hope that was more help than confusing.

Ahh..nice. cause i was thinking of getting a Firepod and daisy chaining it with my Motu 828.

Why? What do you see in the firepod thats not in the motu, and vice versa?

For more inputs. and plus, the firepod pre's sound really nice(not better than the motu's thought)

I´m almost sure that you can not daisy chain a Firepod with anything else that a Firepod or a Firebox... Send an email to Support at Presonus, they´re great.

You would have to install both sets of drivers for them to work together, and I don't think that's a goer.
Likewise daisychaining is not going to work either.

Your best bet is to just record your drums (& anything else) through the firepod. Then you can unload the mixer and 1814 and buy some more mics or something
