Hey, I know I'm new around here so I hope not to sound presumptuous…

I think if someone posts a song here in this forum to critique the songwriting, it would be a grand idea to post a lyric sheet along with the song. It helps the evaluation process and saves the work of the listener trying to transcribe the lyrics. Plus if you are going to submit any material to a publisher you need to get used to doing that anyway. Good practice. Any thoughts? Can I get a second? :D

I'll second that and third it.

It's a good idea because first of all, the writer has to look at the lyrics he or she is asking us to consider, which might heave up big warning signs for them just in the process of typing.

In the ideal world of this forum, you get out of it what you put into it. I notice when people put in the effort of writing out their lyric sheet and try my best to comment. When people don't post, I subtly suggest it as a good idea. Unfortunately in this world, great efforts often go unnoticed.

Bottom line though is that by posting your lyrics, you make it that much easier for a random surfer who doesn't know you from Jack to comment on your song. If you post a sound clip and lyrics, your potential critics have that much more to go on. The thread starter can rest assured that the opinions of the listener are significantly more valid when they offer more than "what do you think of my stuff."

No offense to anyone intended, btw. It's all a learning process.:D

That’s why I posted this. I saw that you retyped the lyrics in a different thread. With the lyrics I could comment easily. Without them, I may or may not have been able to find the time. And since I really do want to help out (not that I’m any great expert or anything) I appreciated you posting the lyrics. :)
