Well I finally got the guts to open up my trenchcoat and expose myself (pardon the crude analogy - but the feeling is quite exhibitionist).

If you have a moment, please let me know what you think about "Don't Look Back" at www.mp3.com/skankster

Also - a few questions:

It appears that Nowhere Radio is by far the preferred delivery medium around here and I'm wondering if I should start posting my tunes there.

Is mp3.com frowned upon?

Thanks for taking the time, I'd really appreciate all feedback, positive and negative. From what I've read so far, y'all seem to be pretty straightforward around here.

Listened to Don't Look Back...

Really smooth. Vocal reminded me of Mark Farner's new stuff. A lot of the same qualities. Really well mastered.

With that username, I just had to reply...LOL.

I hate mp3.com. I just went to your site, and SHOCKER, mp3.com wants me to sign up again...and I got about 12 popups before I could even see THAT freakin' screen.

I don't let my computer store cookies, so that's why I generally listen to just about everything else on the board before I go to mp3.com.

I'm gonna' come back to this if you don't get too many hits, but Nowhereradio is just a ton easier for everybody. You can post about 3 tunes (15MB) for free to check it out, and you'll probably get more feedback.

I'm not boycotting your song yet, LOL. It'd just be cool if it were elsewhere.

Welcome out of the shadows, btw...I'm sure I'll be back.

Wow, this wasn't at all what I expected... some jazzy adult contemp... I like the synth bassline (the notes you chose, anyway)... reminds me of a slow Thompson Twins song, with Hall & Oates doing vocal honors, dunked in some mid-70's jazz.

Excellent recording, from what I can hear on crap spkrs. You've got a great voice. Some of the synth sounds could sound more... expensive maybe (the little "trumpet" blasts, for example...) but overall a very nice, pro sounding arrangement.

And your CD cover looks familiar :)

cool.
nice singing i totally agree.....wow...i hate the canned music in the back ground tho...git sounds pretty good...nice little catchy line (behind ..dont look back)..that didnt come out right ....the guitar lick behind where you say "dont look back"..is cool...whew..lol

its that midi sounding keyboard...that is sticking out to me...that voice should not be backed by mediocre crap like that....

cool lead guitar part too......

all in all 7outta 10..

nice work

Listened a bit...

Overall recordings are good IMO. Yeah the canned instruments don't sound real, but you did a good job of making the sound full. I will say that I think you should take advatage of your real intruments more...the guitar tone in "Don't Look Back" in my opion is poorly processed, it sounds very digital.

Very decent vocals and great singing technique!
