Yes, that's the same mixer. Well it looks EXACTLY like the one they are selling. The salesman told me he thought 1400 was too expensive and that they sell for about 500. I made a reasonable offer for 850, and he told me he would talk to his boss. And if the boss said no, he would try and find the guy and ask him personally. He also said that nobody has made an offer on it and its been sitting there for 6+ months. I really do hope they accept my offer because anything over 850 is way too much. But the board is in GREAT shape.

They would be stupid not to take $850 which, IMHO, is the max I'd pay. I mean, they should have a clue that the board's been sitting there for more than 6 months with no offers. I would def get that sales guy on your side and trim the price more if you can. The price the sales guy quoted indeed reflects what those boards go for on the used market. You may want to print out the prepal link price trend and also do an online orion blue book search for this model. Print both of these out, give it to the sales guy so that he may convince the owner / seller to lower the price. So did you verify the model is WR-T820B?

here is the actual mixer. this is the stores website.

The salesman told me his boss wouldn't honor it because the store needs to make money on the consignment... pfft. So he told me when the original seller comes in he would tell him secretly so he can sell it without melharts involved. I talked to the guy today, no telling when the original seller will walk in. He said he comes by every week, so who knows...

Yup, that's the mixer / model #. Talk to the sales guy every week until you know what's going on so that you can either move on or clench the deal. Looks like he's on your side and if he can make good on what he says, then you stand a good chance of scoring that mixer. Don't give up, unless the original owner doesn't budge. Good luck and keep us updated.

mixer

I have no experience with those mixers so i cant say anything about performance. But the thing looks awesome. You are about to have a very epic setup. I look forward to hearing your recordings!

Yeah, I cant wait to get them recorded... I have about 7 that I'm gonna do.

Agreed. My gut tells me the mixer is at least as good as any teac / tascam out-there. It's a 20 channel and has 20 tape returns and all the bells & whistles. I've read somewhere (but can't confirm) that the thing is modular in that you can take the individual channel strips out. Sweet if true.

The channel modules are in groups of 4 like the M-520...its actually very M-520-ish overall, but it is a higher bracket of mixer...nothing against the M-520 but I'd pick the RAMSA over the M-520...$1500 is too much but $850? I don't think that is too bad...less is ALWAYS better (for the buyer that is...heheh) :)
