Lowering Latency on mp3 track

Hello I put my question as a reply by mistake so I'm reposting it. I was wondering how do I lower the latency on a mp3 track that I made from youtube, it's an original song. It keeps telling me that the vocal remove cannot be used because of high latency. How do I lower it?

latency is the interaction of your soundcard and it's drivers.
I'm assuming you are using an on-board soundcard, so there is the problem....

So how exactly are you trying to remove the vocals? What equipment/software are you using?

(helps to tell us details to solve a problem, we're not psychic...)

I'm using the Aobe Audition C5.5 when I lower the latency, there is an echo still in the background. And now I can't even record because it's saying the sample rate is not matching the output and input device. I don't understand because the input and output doesn't give me an option to change the sample rate. I don't know how to work this software.

....again, its not the software, its your SOUNDCARD and its high-latency drivers.

If you are using an on-board (you STILL didn't say...) you can try using ASIO4all, which SIMULATES asio, but the real cure is to pop $40-and-up for a real ASIO interface/soundcard.
