that sucks man...
Ya i dont remember who mentioned it but there are definately two different windows that are all reffering to (and possibly mixing up). I'm not talking about that window full of sliders when you double click the volume icon. I'm talking about the windowthat has like 3 sliders that you find in the control panel. under sounds. I would do some research if i were you to figure out how to get that to work for you. Might as well use your sound card to its full potential. I bet you will notice an improvement in quality.

yeah that's what i was saying earlier, when i do that "Line In" is not an option, under Recording Properties the only options are:

Microphone
Analog Mix
Auxillary
CD Digital

There is no "Line In" and i have experiemtned by checking each of the following separately and none of htem function as the Line In

i have windows XP with a soundblaster Audigy2 card
Like everyone else, I don't understand why you are not seeing a Line In control. Quite strage - but also probably the reason why you are not getting sound when you connect to the Line In port.

Did you get a CD with the Audigy card? Did you use the CD to install the card? Generally Creative sound cards come with their own mixer (even thought the Windows mixer should work). It might be worth it to try and install the Creative mixer applet from the CD that came with your card. It should pretty much be as simple as popping in the CD, and following the selections offered when it autoruns.

i have the same set-up....use analog mix...somewhere it is described that that includes line -in....your welcome

Read the link:

Its all very simple and yes the Audigy has a Line-in option on the Windows mixer. If you don' see it, its because you're not doing something right.
