Low Pass Filter?

I recorded some songs for a guy recently and noticed with the final mix that some of his vocal notes hit some lows that sounded really muffled. For the most part, the vocals were clear and sounded great. But every once in a while he hit a low note that really jumped out on the subs. I tried cutting off some of the lows around 100hz and below. but it didn't seem to work. Are there any EQ suggestions for this. Or I thought I heard of something called a "Pass Filter". Does this cut off frequencies below a certain point? Can I do that on Studio 4 and if so, how?

If your using the cubase EQ, set the "q" on the lowest filter to "Hi P." and set the freq to 90 give or take.
 
A low pass filter will allow low frequencies to pass-through

A high pass filter will allow high frequencies to pass-through


I think you mean a high pass filer. Do as above - play with the 'q' settings in the EQ
 
What do you mean by "Hi P"? I don't see that on the EQ.

When you turn the "q" knob, it should scroll thru a bunch of numbers, and end on "High P.
on one end and "Low shelf" on the other. At least in SX3.
 
On Studio 4, the EQ settings are done with sliders. Unless there is another EQ I can open up that I am not aware of. Even so, the slider for "Q" just has numbers from 0 to 12. 0 is the low setting and 12 is the high. So I would assume that putting it all the way at 12 would be the same as the "hi p". I will try that. Thanks for the help!
